Western Business Solutions has been designing, deploying and supporting technology solutions since 2010.

Over that time, our work has crossed an unusually broad range of applications — from business networks and wireless connectivity to custom workflow software, fleet tracking, communications systems and specialized technology deployments.

Technology has changed considerably since we started.

Many solutions that once required custom development are now available through powerful cloud platforms, specialized applications and increasingly, artificial intelligence. Enterprise technology has also become more accessible, standardized and scalable.

Rather than trying to compete as a traditional managed IT provider, Western Business Solutions has evolved with the industry. Today, we maintain our technology practice as a selective, project-based division of The Williams Group, taking on assignments where our experience in networking, systems, communications and workflow design can solve a specific business or organizational challenge.

Reliable connectivity remains the foundation of almost every modern organization.

Western Business Solutions has designed and implemented networking and communications solutions for businesses, organizations and specialized environments for more than 15 years.

Our experience includes traditional business networks, wireless infrastructure, point-to-point connectivity, multi-location environments and specialized deployments where conventional solutions were not always practical.

Today, we continue to support selected networking and infrastructure projects, including planning, equipment sourcing, implementation and coordination with specialized technology partners where required.

Our approach remains vendor-aware but solution-focused: understand the environment first, determine what needs to be accomplished and then select the technology that best supports it.

OrderTrac Workflow Solutions

One of the longest-running examples of our technology work is OrderTrac.

OrderTrac was developed as a customizable workflow platform for organizations whose processes could not easily be accommodated by conventional off-the-shelf software.

Working directly with clients, we developed applications that could track jobs, customers, orders, service activity and internal processes through workflows designed around each organization's actual operations.

Several OrderTrac environments continue to operate today, demonstrating one of the principles that has guided our technology work from the beginning: Technology should adapt to the organization — not force the organization to adapt to the technology.

We continue to support our existing OrderTrac clients and consider new workflow and integration projects where there is a strong fit.

Why Western Business Solutions Still Exists

The technology industry today bears little resemblance to the one we entered in 2010.

Cloud computing replaced servers. Software-as-a-Service replaced many custom applications. Wireless technology transformed networking.

Artificial intelligence is changing development again. Our own company changed too.

Technology helped us transform a traditional bricks-and-mortar office supply company into Chamber Supply Co., an integrated e-commerce procurement business serving organizations across Canada.

That experience changed how we think about technology. We no longer believe an IT company needs to sell every service to every customer.

Instead, Western Business Solutions remains available for the projects where our particular combination of technology, business operations, communications and problem-solving experience makes sense.

Sometimes it means helping an organization choose between building something, buying something or connecting systems they already have.

And occasionally, someone brings us a problem we've never seen before.

Those tend to be the projects we enjoy most.

Technology Without the Technology Pitch

We start with the problem — not the product. Western Business Solutions works with businesses, public-sector organizations, non-profits and community organizations on selected technology and infrastructure projects.
